1947. The Chapleau fire of 1947. There were two Husky aircraft based in Chapleau. One, on July 1st, fatefully taking young Chapleau people on a joyride, crashed in the Back River, taking the life of the pilot, Mrs. Lilla (Nolan) Chambers and Lillian McCorkill.
